Deep Root Fertilizing

Regular fertilizing enhances the health of all trees. RJ's Tree Service fertilizes trees using our deep root fertilizer, which helps the nutrients get into the ground and ultimately into the root system. There are various treatments we can give according to what each individual tree needs. For instance, giving queen palms a mixture of magnesium, manganese, and iron sulfate will help prevent and treat frizzle top. Queen palms require additional water and the appropriate amount of water leaches out the soil minerals; therefore, those minerals need replacing.

Our general tree fertilizer contains a solution of 20% nitrogen, 20% phosphate, and 20% other active nutrients. For general fertilizing of your trees, we recommend applying it in both the spring and fall. Since citrus trees are fruit bearing, fertilizing is recommended three to four times per year -- spring, middle of summer, and fall being the optimal times of the year. By keeping your tree healthy with fertilizing and regular maintenance, you will enjoy your trees for years to come.

Trimming

Regular trimming, especially of larger trees, will help prevent wind damage and, potentially, structural damage to your property. Proper trimming balances the integrity of the tree and allows the wind to easily blow through it. In return, your tree will not be as prone to storm damage, especially during the monsoon season. We pay special attention to trim limbs that are crossing on one another which can also damage the tree's integrity. Topping is never recommended as this tends to weaken the branches; a large intact branch is stronger than a cut branch with sucker growth extending from it. This is especially true for eucalyptus trees because they grow large and fast, making their branches extremely heavy. RJ's prides itself on their expertise with tree trimming and our tree service wants to keep your trees as beautiful as they can be.

Tree Removal

Trees are beautiful, but can outgrow their welcome. Trees sometimes need to be removed because they have outgrown their space, or they may be causing structural damage to your garden walls, patios, swimming pool, or home. If tree removal is needed, RJ's provides this service while protecting your valuable landscaping and structures. Even though we do all we can to prevent any damage, we do have business insurance for any unforeseen mishaps. There are times when a crane service is needed and we work with only reputable, insured services in the Valley.

Stump Removal

It is always best to remove those unsightly stumps in your yard as they provide a wonderful home for termites. RJ's Tree and Stump Service offers professional, fast stump removal services with their Vermeer Stump Cutter. This machine is able to remove stumps 8-12 inches below ground level. Because we can never be sure of what lies below the ground, Blue Stake services are available. Most often, we often encounter irrigation lines in the direct vicinity of the tree root. (Please note that we are not responsible for anything we encounter below ground level.)

To determine the price, we measure the stumps at ground level, and at the widest part in diameter. Because we remove a larger surface than is visible, and reach a depth of 8-12 inches, chances of regrowth is minimized.

Chipping

Do you have a giant pile of limbs to get rid of? If you are one of those "do-it-yourself" people and prefer to do your own pruning and trimming, we do offer a chipping service. We base our price on your location and the quantity of brush. We recycle all our chipping which helps our entire environment. Palm trees and their fronds are the only exception, as the mulch plant does not accept them due to their high acid content.
